HELP
The essentials for exploring and contributing to your family tree.
Use Search & People to find someone already recorded. Select their name, then use Navigate Relatives or Live Preview to move through the family.
Select the existing person first. Then choose how the new person is related to that selected person. This keeps relationship direction clear.
Enter each person's actual recorded/legal surname, even when it differs from the family surname. A surname does not determine lineage. Izimpande follows recorded biological relationships.
When adding a second biological parent, Izimpande may mark a likely existing parent with a ★. Confirm the correct person rather than creating a duplicate.
Where a male lineage member has wives or partners, use the wife count/tag on his card to view those relationships without permanently expanding the tree.
Controls depend on your role. Tree Admins manage the whole tree. Branch Editors manage their permitted branch. Other contributors may suggest changes for review.
Where your role allows it, use invite/share controls to bring relatives into the correct branch. Existing members can be matched before an invite is sent.
Tap a person to select them. Use preview controls to zoom, reposition and change family view. Spouse panels float so generations stay in place.
